BIOGRAPHY

Allegra Esclapon de Villeneuve (b. 1996, Vienna) is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in ceramics and sculpture. Raised in Florence, Italy, she developed a profound connection to art from an early age, training in traditional techniques such as engraving, sculpture, and oil painting. She later pursued a degree in Costume Design for Theatre and Film at Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL) in London, followed by a Master’s in Art and Cultural Management in Barcelona.

Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of movement, human connection, and materiality. Initially working in ceramic production in Florence, she transitioned to a more experimental and performative approach, integrating live sculpting into her work. Through projects like REVERSO, she abstracts the human form, capturing spontaneous gestures and emotional depth in clay.

Currently based in Madrid, Esclapon de Villeneuve continues to merge sculpture with performance, seeking to create an immersive experience for her audience. Her recent work expands into the intersection of ceramics and textiles, exploring themes of transformation, fragility, and endurance. She has exhibited in Barcelona and Madrid and participated in multidisciplinary performances, including Límites Líquidos, where she investigated the fluidity of human relationships through dance and sculpture.

Influenced by her Italian upbringing, she is drawn to the beauty in imperfection and the passage of time, embracing the tension between decay and creation. Her work invites viewers to engage with the tactile and emotional resonance of materials, blurring the boundaries between object, movement, and memory.
